Tl;dr: Watch the repair video FIRST. This will take you less than 15m if you do watch the video. You need to remove a door panel, you can't directly replace the icemaker. Even without doing that, it took me less than 30 minutes. 4 screws, a panel removal, a couple of computer-style power plugs, and you'll have ice again no problem. Stupid easy. The repair job took me less than 15 minutes. I removed the lower back panel from the back of the fridge then disconnected the power to the fridge and turned off the water supply to the fridge. I then looked closely at how the water valve 2-way was installed and removed it. Then I connected the water supply lines for the water and ice then connected the water valve line and I was done. Removed refrigerator panel, disconnected light and fan power. Removed fan assembly and replaced motor, grommets and fan attachment spring. Unit had adhesive on spring to help hold the spring. Chatted with customer service and clarified that spring and fan would easily pull off motor shaft. Adhesive probably was extra measure used during original build of the fridge. Noise was due to fan rubbing on housing. New fan position set to avoid any rubbing. Read more
