This surface burner ignitor/orifice assembly directs gas through a calibrated orifice and provides the spark to ignite it. Replacing a worn or damaged assembly restores consistent lighting and an even flame on the affected rangetop burner.
- Routes gas from the valve through the orifice to the burner head
- Positions the ignitor for reliable sparking and quick ignition
- Helps maintain correct flame size and pattern on that burner
- Common symptoms: burner won't light, clicks without flame, delayed ignition, weak or uneven flame
What's included: One ignitor/orifice assembly. Install notes:
- Disconnect power and shut off the gas supply before servicing
- Remove grates, caps, and burner heads; lift the cooktop to access the assemblies
- Note wire routing and original orifice location; transfer any reusable hardware from the old part
- After installation, restore gas and check connections for leaks, then test spark and flame

Causes of a bad burner cap kit include wear and tear over time from heat exposure, accidental damage from pots and pans, or issues with the mounting hardware that secures the caps.
Symptoms of bad burner caps can include:

- Flames not contained within burner cap openings
- Over extensive use, burner caps can deteriorate or become misshapen.
