Cooling Fan Assembly (Control)
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB26T10018

This control cooling fan assembly circulates air through the oven's control compartment to remove heat. By keeping the console and electronics cool during and after cooking, it helps prevent overheating and protects sensitive components.

  • Moves air across the control area to dissipate heat from the board, wiring, and trim
  • Runs during/after bake or broil to maintain safe cabinet temperatures
  • Typical failure signs: fan doesn't run, loud vibration/squeal, control area feels very hot, or heat-related shutdowns
  • Purpose-built for the control compartment; distinct from the convection fan inside the oven cavity
What's included: 1 control cooling fan assembly Install notes:
  • Disconnect power at the breaker and allow the appliance to cool; wear cut-resistant gloves
  • Access is typically from the rear or top; remove panels/guards per your model's service information
  • Transfer any required brackets or ducts; secure so the wheel spins freely with no rubbing
  • Reconnect wiring as originally routed, keeping harnesses clear of the blade; test operation before reassembly

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You GE profile in wall oven gave F 9 code and would shut off after 30 minutes   Matthew M. • Fairfield , CA • July 23, 2018

The F9 error code is supposed to indicate that the door lock mechanism has failed. My oven would give the F9 code and turn off during normal baking at 400 F after about 30-40 minutes. It turns out that GE must have programmed the error codes incorrectly in my model, because the real problem was that my control board cooling fan was no longer functional, and one of the two thermal switches was shutting off the unit when the control board area got too hot. Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The convection fan on my ge profile convection wall oven burned out   Doug C. • Staunton , VA • February 18, 2015

The motor hummed but the fan didn't turn. Clearly the brushes were burned out. I ordered a new fan, although I had to talk to a human at ApplianceParts because my model was not listed. The part was a perfect fit. The only problem is determining how to remove the over to reach the back, no instructions anywhere online. But trial and error eventually worked. Fan Motor
Genuine Whirlpool part
By: Whirlpool
Part Number: W10860984

The Motor-Fan is an OEM component specifically designed for Whirlpool kitchen ranges. Located within the back wall of the oven cavity, the motor fan works to circulate air and remove excess moisture and smoke during the cooking process. Proper motor-fan functioning helps ensure efficient oven ventilation and performance.

Symptoms of a bad motor fan include:

  • Excessive smoke or moisture left in the oven after cooking
  • Oven taking longer to preheat and cook due to poor air circulation
  • Loud buzzing or grinding noises emanating from the fan

Causes of failure are normally wear and tear of motor windings or fan blade bearings from years of continuous use. Overheating can potentially reduce lifespan as well.

This OEM Whirlpool part is compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.
