Oven won't heat or has no power after self-clean? A blown thermal fuse is likely the cause. This safety part cuts power if temps get too high.
This is for the Whirlpool in-wall double oven GBD307PDS10. No power and the door locked after the shutdown before the self-cleaning cycle was over. I watched some video and this is a known issue the fuses blow during self-cleaning. I opened the door with a 90-degree hook, an easy task. Took doors off (watch video from others), unscrewed from the wall, and made a very small platform. and took the oven out (need two people and take the doors off first. Oven won't turn on after self-clean cycle? A blown thermal fuse is the likely cause. This safety part cuts power when overheated. Moderate DIY repair.
Replaced fuse. It took much longer to get the oven out of the wall to access the fuse and replace the front panel than to do the repair. Replacement passive door hinge for electric and gas ranges. Serves as the pivot point for your oven door. Replace if bent, broken, or worn from use.
I knew for sure that the hinge with the large spring was damaged, but elected to replace both hinges and receivers. Replacing the parts was fairly easy and would have taken me less then an hour. This model has thin metal covers over the hinge assemblies. I found that squeezing in the sides of the covers help to hold them in place on the hinge while reassembling the door. My only difficulty was putting the door back on the oven. It took a little maneuvering but I managed to get it. Now the door... Read more
