The Upper Freezer Door Bin is an OEM part for Frigidaire side-by-side refrigerators. It provides organized storage for freeze-sensitive items like ice cream in the freezer door. The door bin measures approximately 13"L x 5 1/2" W.
Over time, repeated opening and closing of the freezer door subjects the storage bin to mechanical stresses and impact damage. Cracks or breaks in the plastic can compromise its storage function.
Symptoms of a problematic freezer door bin include:
- Inability to safely or efficiently store items
- Cracks or breaks in the plastic that compromise structural integrity
- Discoloration or mineral buildup reducing storage capacity

On my 1993 (mfg. date) Whirlpool side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, the shelf endcaps on the inside of the refrigerator door were broken. The endcaps (paired) are the plastic pieces that attach each shelf's horizontal metal strip to the door. The horizontal strip acts as a retainer to keep items from falling off the shelf.
