Replaced timer, thermostat, a thermal fuse, the pair of thermal cutoff switches and finally the heater element. I used the web site to figure out the most likely causes for the drum not turning. I watched the web site's videos to see what I would have to do and thought it wasn't too bad; something a rookie could do. The part came within 3 days. The fix was straight forward ...unscrewed the hinge from the dryer then from the door and replaced with new hinge and the door closes the way it should. Read more

My dryer lint filter was clogged beyond regular cleaning due to its age. After 15 years of daily use it was time to replace. In.the process of determining why the dryer was taking so long to dry loads, I noticed the filter housing gasket had torn off somehow which allow a lot of lint to pass through into the dryers main housing. After having replaced the drum support rollers twice in a roughly 3yr period, I realized something wasn't quite right, and indeed it wasn't. I had been ordering the wrong parts - I did use the online parts locator after checking, & double checking my model number. Replaced the heater tube. Had to open the back up, removed the heating element and then replaced the heater tube. Then I put it all together again and everything is fine now. Read more

• No heat or not enough heat

The root cause was the front glides. They were virtually gone, and the drum was on metal to metal. So I replaced them with a front glide kit. I also replaced the belt, rear rollers, and lint screen. Removed LP Orifice and LP Gas limiter. Orifice was easy, however the gas limiter was the tricky one because I had no instructions to what went where. I could not find anything online as to how to convert from LP to Natural Gas, but you could find several things as to how to convert from Natural to LP. First I watched videos about squeaking Kenmore dryers. Then I used that information to open the dryer, diagnosing the fact that the roller on the drum belt tension arm had broken and actually fallen off the arm.
