I removed the metal front door panel, then removed the broken plastic Panel-Facia which houses the handle. After 4 years of heavy use nearly all of the facia assembly's plastic attachment tabs were broken. This caused the facia to pull away from the door while trying to open the dishwasher. I ordered a replacement facia from appliancepartspro.com ($52 with shipping, part arrive in one day!) and installed it in about 30 minutes. Initially performed troubleshooting over the phone with Bosch customer support and did preliminary research on the web. Ultimately had to call out service technician to isolate/confirm problem.
