Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dryer ran but had no heat   William A. • Claverack , NY • December 04, 2014

I took the back off the dryer and found the hi-limit thermostat in pieces. I went to your web-site, found the part in the parts list, called you at 11:00 am saturday morning, ordered the part, and couldn't believe it when fed-ex showed up monday morning at 11:00 am, with the RIGHT part. Two days from Kentucky to upstate New York, in 2 days, over a weekend, I am impressed to say the least. Did I mention that the dryer is 27 years old. Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Dryer had stopped heating   Ron B. • Saint Augustine , FL • June 29, 2018

Replaced the dryer heater, and for good measure the limit and thermostat switches. My whole experience with Appliance Parts Pros was exceptional. I had a few questions to which the pros went out of there way to get the answers I needed. They also sent me the service manual which had step by step illustrations on how to disassemble the dryer. Saved a lot of time. Read more

Dryer Thermal Fuse (Thermal Cutoff), 1-Pack
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WE04X27360

A single-replacement thermal fuse that stops the dryer's heating circuit if internal temperatures get too high, protecting the appliance from overheating and preventing fire risk. Fits common electric and gas dryer assemblies. What it does:

  • Cuts power to the heating element or burner when excessive heat is detected to prevent overheating.
  • Commonly causes a dryer to stop producing heat when the fuse has failed.
  • Helps protect other dryer components from heat damage by acting as a one-time safety cutoff.
  • Works as part of the dryer's safety/thermal control system; it must be replaced if blown.

What's included:

  • One thermal fuse

Install notes:

  • Disconnect power (and gas supply for gas dryers) before accessing or replacing the fuse.
  • Typically mounted on the blower housing or near the heating element; replace with the exact part number.
  • Do not bypass or defeat this safety device; use proper splicing or connectors and restore all wiring as original.
  • If the fuse blew, inspect and clear system airflow (lint build-up, venting) before testing the dryer to prevent repeat failure.
