Ge Wave Guide
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB06X10254

This is an authentic OEM replacement waveguide sourced directly from the manufacturer. Waveguides are used in microwave ovens to help transmit the radiation throughout the microwave's inner cavity. The waveguide also protects the microwave's inner parts from damage due to steam or spattering food during operation. If the waveguide breaks or cracks, as can happen to plastic parts over time, it should be replaced to protect the mechanical workings of the microwave. Although the microwave can be used without the waveguide, it is not recommended. The waveguide is located inside the cooking area of the microwave over the control panel. It is a thin piece of material that may resemble cardboard. To start, disconnect the microwave from the wall outlet and use a screwdriver to remove the two screws holding the waveguide in place. Discard the broken waveguide and use the screws from the original waveguide to install the new one. Plug the microwave back into the outlet. This waveguide is made of durable plastic and is sold individually. This waveguide does not come with screws. It is designed for use in microwave ovens manufactured by General Electric.

Ge Grease Filter
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB6X486

The Grease Filter is an OEM Replacement Part designed to maintain the cleanliness and efficiency of your GE microwave. This filter measures 7 3/4 inches x 9 1/8 inches and is specifically designed to collect grease particles from the air while cooking. B

Causes of a bad grease filter can include regular wear and tear from frequent use, buildup of grease and cooking residues, or physical damage from cleaning or handling. Over time, the filter can become less effective at trapping grease, leading to reduced performance.

Symptoms of a bad grease filter include:

  • Noticeable grease buildup on the range hood or microwave surfaces
  • Reduced airflow or ventilation efficiency
  • Visible damage, tears, or holes in the filter
  • Unpleasant odors due to trapped grease and food particles

This GE replacement part is also compatible with Hotpoint, RCA, and some Kenmore models.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Broken handle on microwave   Stephen K. • Gilbert , AZ • August 29, 2015

My particular model of microwave had one screw visible but the other hidden behind a plastic ring. I needed to pop the ring out by disengaging the plastics clips using a putty knife; then it was an easy job of unscrewing the old handle and screwing the new one in. It probably took me just as long to write this description as it did to actually replace the handle. Read more

Ge Thermal Cut-Off (Bottom)
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB21X10162

This thermal cut-off installs in the bottom location and protects the appliance by interrupting power when excessive heat is detected. It helps prevent overheating-related damage to internal components.

  • Monitors temperature at the bottom of the unit and opens the circuit if an over-temperature condition occurs
  • Common symptoms include no power, shutting off during use, or not starting after an overheating event
  • The TCO tests open (no continuity), it must be replaced
What's included: One thermal cut-off for the bottom position. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power before servicing; microwaves contain a high-voltage capacitor that must be safely discharged
  • Note wire positions and mounting orientation; transfer any reusable bracket/insulator and make secure, insulated connections
  • After reassembly, ensure airflow and vents are unobstructed to prevent repeat overheating

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Bottom tco right before the little fuse blew   Dennis M. • Carpentersville , IL • February 22, 2015

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Microwave oven was not heating   Scott S. • Charlotte , NC • June 20, 2017

I ordered the capacitor, diode, and magnetron in hopes that I would be able to complete the repair using the less expensive parts. I first removed the oven from the wall and then I removed the metal housing to access the internal parts. I discharged the capacitor using a pair of insulated needle nose pliers. Then I changed out the diode and the capacitor and reassembled the unit and tested it. It still did not heat so I disassembled the unit again and replaced the magnetron this time.... Read more

Ge High-Voltage Capacitor (Microwave)
Genuine Ge part
By: Ge
Part Number: WB27X11031

This is the microwave's high-voltage capacitor. It stores and releases energy in the high-voltage circuit to power the magnetron so food heats. A failed capacitor can cause no heat, loud humming, or blown fuses.

  • Works with the high-voltage transformer and diode to supply the magnetron with operating voltage
  • Stores and smooths high-voltage DC in the microwave's power circuit
  • Failure may result in no heat while lights and turntable still run
  • Can cause loud buzzing, sparking, or a burning smell during operation
  • May open the internal fuse or trip a breaker when the cycle starts
What's included: 1 high-voltage capacitor Install notes:
  • Unplug the appliance; capacitors can retain a dangerous charge—properly discharge the capacitor before servicing
