This is the agitator retaining screw that secures the washer agitator to the transmission shaft so the agitator turns reliably during wash cycles. Durable fastener for top-load washer agitator assemblies. What it does:

  • Secures the agitator to the drive shaft so the agitator rotates with the transmission
  • Prevents the agitator from wobbling or coming loose during agitation
  • Helps restore normal wash action when the agitator is loose or slipping
  • Works with common two-piece and single-piece agitator assemblies
What's included:
  • One agitator retaining screw
Install notes:
  • Disconnect power and water supply before servicing the washer
  • Remove the fabric softener dispenser and agitator cap to access the screw
  • Tighten to secure the agitator; do not overtighten—check OEM torque specs if available
  • If the agitator or shaft shows excessive wear, replace worn components rather than relying on the screw alone
