My 9-year-old GE washer, in which I replaced the motor two years ago, developed an extremely loud roaring sound during the spin cycle. After reviewing stories here to pinpoint the problem, I replaced the tub bearing, mode shifter, and tub seal. I also installed a new tub nut, split washer, and belt. Cleaned off the oil or grease that somehow was all over the drive belt. Installed new drive belt. Installed 2 new left (blue) and 2 new right (red) rod and spring assembly. This fixed the out of balance issue during spin cycle. Read more

I did not know how to remove the broken spray arm so when I muscled it out, the spray arm base broke. We ordered the replacement parts from appliance parts pros and received them within 2 days. I looked online to find out how to remove the spray arm base. I removed it be unscrewing the base, screwing the replacement base, and then snapping in the new spray arm. We tested the dishwasher and it worked just like it was new. Another new task learned and completed!! Read more

I replaced all 4 suspension rods and springs and now it spins very smooth. They weren't broken, just badly worn. It gave new life to my 15 year old GE Profile washer. They are basically springs, so they wear after a while. It was well worth the hour I spent fixing it. You need a good long reach to get to the back 2 and you have to take off the dampening straps and the control panel so you can gain access.
