Kenmore / Sears Dishwasher Parts

I searched the model on Appliancepartspros.com and ordered the items needed with overnight shipping. My order came the next day :) All parts were in stock and came clearly labeled and orderly packaged. Within 10 minutes my dishwasher was back in business and I was one happy camper. I replaced the gasket. Removing the old one was not easy. I used a razor knife to cut out most of it. And then I used rubbing alcohol to soften the remaining glue and scrapped it out with a small blade screwdriver Read more

Replacing the inlet valve solved the problem. The old valve was somehow clogged with white sediment. I probably could have taken it off and cleaned it out if I'd known, but replacing the valve was much easier. Took about half an hour to repair. Video walk through was extremely helpful. Purchased a new rack and would have skipped reporting on it except that the new rack is superior to the old one. Easy to load, better silverware basket. It is so much better I bought a one for my mother (same dishwasher - lucky her!) before she even had a problem with the original. Read more

• Will not fill with water

Cycle would complete but dishes weren't clean (not even really wet) and soap wasn't dissolving. Could hear fill at start but maybe not spraying or filling again in cycle. Thought it was the control board, but actually this was not the error. Replaced the control board and same problem arose, only new control board version actually stopped cycle with message that dishwasher couldn't fill. I identified the parts I would need online, shopped for price and delivery, and ordered what I needed. I bought the support arm mount assembly and decided to replace the spray arm and tube as well. Installation was straightforward, although it took me a couple of tries to get the spray arm mount oriented correctly because it is angled to allow the spray arm to miss the deeper glasses channel on one side of the upper rack in the dishwasher. Removed water out of basin, down to the last inch.. Watched water rise slowly, and felt temperature, warm. This told me it was supply water. Ordered replacement part, two days just as mentioned, Removed as per video. Also choose to replace the waste line check valve, to affordable not too. Just replaced the things. Had to reuse old tine rows, rollers, the spray arm, etc., i.e. I removed 'em from the old racks and put on the new ones, but that was piece of cake. Also, I cleaned the food grinder and the discharge valve compartment (thank you very ???? ???? much, Internet), so spray arms around the top rack get enough water pressure now. I didn't have to buy any parts for the latter part of this little repair project, though. Read more

• Leaking

Removing the bottom panel and watching the internals while the washer was running revealed a small drip from what appeared to be a plastic cam that was attached to a solenoid. The water was dripping from the shaft the cam attached to down into the solenoid. Being a DIY guy I pulled the washer out, turned it upside down and inspected the effected mechanism. I had previously disassemble the pump assembly to find what I at first thought was an oddly shaped spring, which it was. What I learned by researching the parts was that the spring's odd shape was a result of something having gotten caught in the pump and jamming the impeller. After ordering the parts, I watched the "repair video" a few time and proceeded to remove and replaced the affected parts. Bought new wheel and the are easy to replace. Found why the brok and did a quick fix so it wont happen again. As the wheels age one will pull off then they all get weak and the rack will come off the track, To prevent this. you can put a plastic tie so the wheels cant fall off in the first place, The disign holds them in place with pressure from the plastic but the plastic ages and gets weak. A tie would have to actually break before the wheel can fall off. Read more

• Not cleaning dishes properly

I called to ask about the correct gasket for the door. As VERY helpful lady suggested that it was probably a split arm spray. She was absolutely correct. I have used you web site for parts in the past and will always make it my first stop when ordering appliance parts. Read more

My husband expected we needed a new dishwasher but I insisted on trying to fix it first. You need a Torx screwdriver so make sure you have a set. A little difficult to get cover back on and lined up by myself, but I managed and this was my first attempt at major appliance repair. I replaced the entire console and the dispenser. My discharge would not empty after a wash cycle and I always had gross gray water left in the bottom approx 3" deep? After doing the obvious things of checking the simp for garbage, and checking that the discharge hose wasn't blocked, I removed my discharge pump ( not too hard to do) and tested.
