Found the end of the right-side Door Spring that connects to the Door Cable broke off and the plastic end of the Door Cable that connects to the Door Spring was also broken off. Ordered a replacement Door Spring 154579101 and Door Cable 154578801 from AppliancePartsPros.com When the parts arrived a few days later, I watched the video on the AppliancePartsPros. The symptom was suds and water on the floor at the left front of the dishwasher within the first five minutes of operation. Examination of the seal inside the door showed it was warped and pushed up into the door out of place. Once disassembled we found a tear in the seal, severe warping, and the material was sticky and slimy rather than flexible. I found a video of the disassembly that was very helpful. I had previously disassemble the pump assembly to find what I at first thought was an oddly shaped spring, which it was. What I learned by researching the parts was that the spring's odd shape was a result of something having gotten caught in the pump and jamming the impeller. When our 8 year old dishwasher started acting up my initial reaction was to simply replace it. • Leaking

Removing the bottom panel and watching the internals while the washer was running revealed a small drip from what appeared to be a plastic cam that was attached to a solenoid. The water was dripping from the shaft the cam attached to down into the solenoid. Being a DIY guy I pulled the washer out, turned it upside down and inspected the effected mechanism. I looked carefully at why this one row of tines might be wobbly and saw that the row of tines next to it was secured by these little plastic pieces that just seemed to snap on. My discharge would not empty after a wash cycle and I always had gross gray water left in the bottom approx 3" deep? After doing the obvious things of checking the simp for garbage, and checking that the discharge hose wasn't blocked, I removed my discharge pump ( not too hard to do) and tested. I called to ask about the correct gasket for the door. As VERY helpful lady suggested that it was probably a split arm spray. She was absolutely correct. I have used you web site for parts in the past and will always make it my first stop when ordering appliance parts. Read more

• Will not drain

It is very simple to fix. All the blogs recommend replacement of this part but do not explain why. This is a normally open check valve that permits the water from inside the dishwasher to drain out, either once it gets too high or just general splash. When the machine drains the pump comes on and the check valve closes. If the check valve is damaged or worn (like mine was) some of the water can pump back into the machine. I originally ordered this part from the KitchenAid website because I assumed I needed to buy the part directly from them since they manufactured my dishwasher. Five minutes after ordering the part from them, I went on Youtube to see if there was a video instructing on the installation of the upper dishrack wheel since I wanted to make sure I installed it correctly. Ran diagnostics 5 times to make sure I get the same error code and then called Appliance Parts Pros to order the washer pump. They informed me they had the pump assembly that has multiple parts on the unit and it was cost effective to order the assembly. I ordered the assembly and after a long back order time received the part. I watched a video on how to change these. I had ordered one a month ago because one had failed. I had no trouble --less than 30 seconds -- to insert a new for the bad one. Then a few weeks later, a 2nd one failed -- there are 4 of them -- and I figured that I might as well change out the bad one as well as the two "good" original ones. Just removed from front and the console. I wound up replacing the control board because the technician that I had come out said that's what was wrong and it would cost $250 to fix. I replaced the control board and it didn't fix the problem. After doing more research and searching out the error codes, I discovered I had to replace the console. so i did.
