• Leaking

I thought it was the gasket so I ordered a new one. While waiting for it to arrive I read some other forums where I read that sometimes the air vent on the front could be dirty and cause leaking. I popped out that vent cover and it was clogged. Using an old toothbrush and a tiny paint brush I cleaned all of the gunk out. No more leak even with the old gasket in place. I'll save the new gasket for when I need it in the future. Read more

Dishwasher died after 1 year and two weeks after purchase! The Bosch tech arrived and recommended replacing the drain pump (as well as cleaning the filter in vinegar). Using instructions I obtained over the internet, I first removed the DW's bottom cover panels so I could look inside the DW (with a flashlight) while it was running. I had to put their dishwasher through several wash cycles before I could pinpoint the location of the leak. • Door won't close

I found the door switch was not making contact when the door closed. I adjusted it, but then it would not open so the dishwasher would run when the door wasn't closed. The contacts were too long in the switch so they would bend and stay together when the door opened. The original switch was very poorly made for a very expensive Maytag dishwasher. I've opened sump housing to check for clogging but it was clean. When I removed check valve to inspect it I've found out that the round part of the valve was missing so I figured it might've blocked the water exit at drain hose or something like that. So I pulled the dishwasher out to get a full access to drain hose connector and the pump. Ordered a new screen and filter. While waiting for arrival, removed wax covered dishes. Carefully removed wax filled filter and screen cover. Stuffed paper towels in hole to absorb water and prevent wax from entering pump. Prayed ????wax had not entered pump. With plastic knife removed visible wax. Wiped out with paper towels. Replacing the inlet valve solved the problem. The old valve was somehow clogged with white sediment. I probably could have taken it off and cleaned it out if I'd known, but replacing the valve was much easier. Took about half an hour to repair. Video walk through was extremely helpful.
