The Icemaker is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. This part produces ice, automatically filling the ice mold with water and freezing it to create ice cubes, which are then dispensed into the ice storage bin.

Common causes of a bad icemaker include wear and tear over time, mineral buildup from hard water, electrical failures, or mechanical issues within the ice-making components.

Symptoms of a bad Icemaker include:

• The icemaker not producing ice
• The icemaker producing ice cubes that are smaller or irregular in shape
• Ice cubes stuck together or not being ejected from the mold
• Unusual noises coming from the icemaker

This OEM Whirlpool part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper and some Kenmore models.

Note: The icemaker does not include the harness or the shut off arm.

This ice container assembly stores ice in the freezer and feeds it to the dispenser. Replacing a cracked or worn bin restores reliable dispensing and helps prevent jams, clumps, or spills inside the freezer. What it does:

• Holds ice produced by the icemaker and stages it for dispensing
• Interfaces with the drive to move ice toward the chute when dispensing
• Helps maintain proper ice flow and reduce clumping
• Common symptoms: ice not dispensing or dispensing slowly, loud grinding during dispense, visible cracks, or ice spilling/leaking from the bin

• Disconnect power and turn off the icemaker before servicing
• Remove the old bin and discard any remaining ice; clear frost or debris from the drive area
• Slide the new assembly straight onto the drive coupler until fully seated and latched
• Restore power and allow fresh ice to be made before testing dispensing

This shutoff arm is the replacement shut-off actuator for an automatic ice maker. It stops ice production when the storage bin is full, helping prevent overflow and ensuring the ice maker cycles correctly. What it does:

• Acts as the bin-level sensor that signals the ice maker to stop making ice when the bin is full
• Prevents overfilling and ice spillage by physically blocking the ice maker's harvest cycle
• Commonly replaced when the arm is broken, bent, or fails to hold the "up" (off) position
• Restores normal tank/ice production control when functioning correctly
