Kitchenaid Light, Bulb, Lamp

I have a Jennair jjw9630cas double wall oven, and after a few years I noticed that the light would not go out, first in the bottom oven, and then in the top oven. After doing some research I discovered this was not uncommon, and the fix usually involved replacing the hinges and/or the hinge receptacles. After extremely poor support from WhirlpooI and researching numerous U-Tube videos, I fully troubleshot potential failed components and connections. All appeared to function properly, so I reassembled the unit and experienced the same problem as before. It was a classic horror story, but with a happy ending! I called a classic, "regular" repair company that I obtained on-line. My Whirlpool was 2 months out of warranty, so the repairman charged a trip-fee of $95 that would be subtracted from the cost of my repair. Originally the dryer was squeaking a lot, so I purchased a new belt tensioner, but the original tensioner was an old-style no wheel tensioner, so that wasn't the source of the squeaking. I saw a lot of lint had built up inside the unit where there shouldn't have been that much. There are five LED's in the ceiling and two along each side of the refrigerator compartment and one in the freezing compartment of which (throughout my ownership of my French-door KitchenAid refrigerator) I've replaced three. Dropped light panel by removing two screws with socket set. Unplugged two terminals and unclipped the light socket from the base. Then just clipped the new socket onto the base, plugged the connectors onto the terminals and remounted the base. Total job was less than 15 minutes. Read more

I ordered a new socket and replaced the socket and now we have a light in the oven. The project took about 10 minutes and was easy done. Read more

I researched on the net, ordered the part, it arrived the next day. Took about 45 minutes to replace. Fairly easy fix. Read more

Removed the plastic shield, then unscrewed old bulb. Screwed in new bulb. New bulb has a slightly different screw base. Looked in several stores that carry appliance bulbs and could not find any bulbs that matched the unusual screw base. Replacing the snap-in plastic shield was difficult. It might have been easier if I had taken the freezer drawer out. Read more
