This was a problem that I'd had previously with this mixer. The worm gear, which is designed to fail (so that more serious damage does not occur to the motor), did fail while I was mixing some multi-grain bread dough. White planetary gear assembly for stand mixers. Installs in the mixer head to drive beaters and attachments. Replace if cracked, damaged, or worn.
Removed the old planetary and cleaned metal shavings from gears. Transferred the old axle/gear assembly onto the new planetary. Inserted the new (and expensive) screw for the main gear and torqued it very tight (as well as the original other four screws). Slid the new planetary gears together and re-inserted the holding pin. This drive coupling connects the motor shaft to the blender jar. Replace if worn, stripped, or cracked to restore proper blade rotation and function.
