• Door won't close

This oven was a Kenmore model #66595822003. I replaced both spring hinges. This oven was a white oven so it took the MFG# WP8053807 hinge (order two of them). They are the same hinge. No left or right. To get the door off the oven, open the door all the way open, I installed pins (preferably only 1/4" long) in the holes of both hinges. Then remove the spring steel retainers above old hinges in the oven frame. These holds hinges in place. Now close the door until hinge stops on pins. Lift up... Read more

Replaced both hinges... simple repair, took about 20 minutes. My only issue is that I replaced these hinges a year and a half ago to repair the same problem. Seems like Whirlpool could have designed a better door. Read more

My appliance is a Whirlpool Accubake Wall Oven, single door. After using the tech sheet and measuring the ohms of the two micro switches that sends signals when the door is shut and locked, determined the lock was faulty. Pretty simple to change, the most difficult part was taking the digital face off of the oven without damaging the control board. TIP: take a picture of the latch switches to ensure you put the correct wires on the correct switch. Read more

I disassembled the top of the range and looked at the problem burner. It looked like there was a spark at all three other burners but not the problem burner. There was a visible spark at the connector between the wiring harness and the ceramic igniter but that spark wasn't making it up to the top of the igniter where it can light the burner. I ordered a new igniter for $19 and it was on my doorstep the next day. I replaced the part and now my wife thinks I am a genius. Don't tell her that... Read more
