Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Wobbling/loud tub on lg washer (broken spider)   Ryan T. • Indianapolis , IN • January 20, 2017

I opted to save myself about $600 by repairing my 8 year old LG washing machine rather than buying a new one. After watching some videos I determined what I needed upon taking my washing machine apart. I ended up replacing the tub (includes spider and shaft), since I could not get the spider part removed from the original tub, as well as the motor bolt (which had broken when I removed it from the original tub's shaft). The spider was cracked and the shaft was wobbling which caused it to... Read more

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You The washer appeared to be leaking   Michael M. • Newbury , MA • December 14, 2015

Based on info around the web and your site I chose to replace all of the bellowed hoses (3) in the machine, as I did not know which bellow was leaking without taking the washer apart first. If one hose was old enough to leak I figured the others were not far behind. The appliance parts pros videos were very helpful, although I chose to replace the drum drain bellows via access through the rear panel thereby saving myself the time of disassembling the front of the machine, as was instructed. Lg Washer/Dryer Combo Dryer Vent Bellows
Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: 4738ER2005A

This is a flexible rubber bellows that connects the dryer exhaust outlet to the external vent duct on a combination washer/dryer unit. It channels hot, moist air out of the dryer section and helps absorb vibration during operation. Replace this bellows if it is cracked, torn, or collapsed, which can cause poor drying performance, excessive lint buildup, or moisture leaking inside the unit.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Lg washer/dryer combo unit shook upper counter balance weight loose damaging the mount lugs on the tub cover and tore the tub gasket   Christine V. • Saluda , VA • March 28, 2020

The upper counter-balance weight mount design is a poor design to begin with. It started to rattle loose approximately 5yrs into the 8yrs that we've owned it. As it would start to loosen up (as evidenced by the loud banging noise exhibited during operation); I'd shut it down, pull the top off, remove the weight (it was almost always half rattled off at this point), wrap the mount lugs with friction tape (the plastic lugs were being worn down/chaffed by the balance weight), put the weight back... Lg Dryer Drum Baffle
Genuine Lg part
By: Lg
Part Number: 4433ER1003A

This is a plastic lifter baffle that mounts inside the dryer drum. It tumbles and lifts clothes as the drum rotates, promoting even airflow and efficient drying. Replace this part if it is cracked, broken, or missing, which can result in clothes bunching together, uneven drying, or loud thumping noises during operation.

Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You Noticed a noisy washer (clunk at each rotation) indicating a worn bearing or broken mount of some kind found shavings of plastic in the filter   Terry H. • Gulf Breeze , FL • May 13, 2017

Disassembled & found a poorly made spindle (spider) that was broken on each of 3 spokes. Heavy corrosion after 12 years of usage so can't complain. The removal of the spider bolts were difficult due to the seized up bolts causing the nuts in the lifter assemblies to strip & spin inside the plastic housing. Easily removed but now I had to order new lifters delaying the repair. The drum wore a groove inside the tub housing that almost cut it in half. I was able to clean up the grooves & fill by... Do-It-Yourself Stories from Customers like You LE error code drum does not spin   David S. • Victoria , TX • May 18, 2019

I initially replaced the rotator sensor located on the stator assembly. That didn’t fix the problem. So I ordered the stator assembly and the wire harness. After replacing both parts, the washer works great. Not sure if it was the stator or the harness but felt I would leave it as is to prevent any future problems that may occur with old parts.
