I purchased a burner and a oven orifice replacement kit from Appliance Parts Pros. I downloaded an installation manual from Whirlpool and followed the instructions. It was pretty easy. The front burner orifices could be replaced by just taking off the burner cover. The back ones required removing the burner diffuser. You will need to reattach the back burner bottom assembies after you remove the diffuser before you unscrew the orifice or it might bend the burner piping causing it to not line up... Read more

First and foremost I UNPLUGGED THE OVEN!. I'll pass on the early morning SHOCK THERAPY! Second, I unscrewed aluminum protection plate from back of oven. Next, I unplugged the two connections behind the oven switch. Then I removed the plastic switch from the front and unscrewed the two screws that secured the oven switch to the oven. Little procrastination paid off. With only 50% capability I knew it is time to call the appliancepartspros. They shipped me parts within 3 days. It was practical to fix both at the time. All I needed was to disconnect power at range breaker box, grab a screwdriver to lift top open, a 16 inch or so piece of old 2×4 wood to keep the top top of stove lifted, so I could access heating elements from underneath. These are very easy to replace ,just gave the old one a quarter turn lifted it out took the two wires off (noted where each one will go on the new burner ) pop the wires onto the new burner put it on and good to go. Read more

I replaced the hinge due to the hinge spring breaking. To replace the hinge you do the following: 1. Disconnect power to stove, either at circuit box or at outlet. 2. Lift door off of outside hinge arms ; no screws are used to attach the door to the hinge 3. Remove two screw on under side of cook top, one on each side. 4. Disconnect cook top connector. 5.
