The timer knob simply pulls off the shaft with a solid, steady pull. Cleaned the timer cavity of lint/dust buildup. Aligned the keying flat of the shaft and knob and pushed the new knob on with careful, steady pressure until it was obviously seated. No tools required other than a vacuum. If I opened door and held door switch, started dryer, turned drum by hand, quickly closed door and pushed start again before drum stopped turning, dryer worked fine. Apparently the part of the motor that gives it more juice on start up went bad. Ordered motor on Monday, received on Wednesday. Blower wheel would not come off the shaft of old motor, chiseled off as shown in motor installation video. I took the tumbler drum out and looked at the pulley and it was not rotating freely. The idler arm had some wear on the attached post so I replaced bothe parts. Since I was in there already I replaced the drum rollers and dryer belt for good measure. I reassembled the dryer and it works great. The best part of the experience was the parts order.
