Maytag Dryer Parts

I previously ordered the heating element, thermostat, and fuse. Also the rear drum rollers. However, after completing that repair I noticed that the terminal block and power cord had some damage from an apparent overheating while allowing the dryer to continue to run in order to dry the clothes. I cut off the vandalised Lock-Cam with a reciprocating saw. The new Lock-Cam slipped into place easily. Read more

Ordered replacement dryer lint filter. Very easy replacement and the new one fits nice and tight. Read more

I took the dryer apart.....first had to clean out all the lint here and there. Took the drum out, inspected the belt and back support wheels. They seemed to be fine. In the front the drum turns on two supports that have a Teflon glide. Those two glides had been worn off with their pad so metal was rubbing against metal. Had to replace the drum rollers, idler roller and belt. Machine has never been taken apart so it was a learning event as well as cleaning all the internals components. The first part we ordered was the heating element. The dryer still wasn't heating so we ordered the thermostat. We received the thermostat, and got it put in the dryer still wasn't heating so I consulted my dryer manual and found out that even though there was electric to the dryer it still might not heat if the breaker was not all the way on, so I reset the breaker and voilà had heat. Blower wheel and clamp replacement. Initially, we replaced both the belt and drum roller wheels but that did not stop the noise. By reviewing videos on YouTube and AppliancePartsPros, we suspected that the blower wheel could be problematic, even though with front panel of dryer off, we did not see any visual clues to support that theory. THE WSHER WAS EASY BECAUSE THE DRAIN PUMP HAD TWO PENNIES INSIDE IT AND THEY CRACKED THE HOUSING.EASY FIX REPLACING THE DRAIN PUMP. WORKS LIKE A CHARM. DRYER WAS A BIT MORE WORK.I CHANGED THE IGNITER FIRST WITH YOUR ADVICE. STILL NOTHING. I THEN CHANGED THE COIL VALVE KIT. NO LUCK. NEXT WAS THE TEMP SWITCH ON THE PANEL.
