Microwave Motor

This evaporator fan assembly circulates cold air through the freezer and refrigerator compartments to keep temperatures even and prevent frost build-up. Replacing a failing fan restores proper airflow and helps the appliance cool consistently. What it does:

• Spins to move cold air from the evaporator across the compartments for even cooling
• Helps prevent frost and ice buildup by maintaining airflow over the evaporator
• Commonly linked to symptoms like reduced cooling, rising temperatures, or loud/noisy operation
• Stops airflow when the motor fails or blades are damaged, causing uneven cooling or freezer-only cooling

• One assembled evaporator fan with motor and blade as shown

• Disconnect power to the appliance before starting any work
• Access usually requires removing interior panels or the evaporator cover—handle fins and blades carefully
• Verify wiring connections and fan orientation during reassembly; avoid bending the fan blade
