This dishwasher control module assembly is the appliance's electronic brain, directing cycle timing and power to the motor, pumps, water valve, and heater. Replace it to restore proper operation when cycles won't start, advance, or the controls are unresponsive.

  • Manages cycle timing and coordinates wash, rinse, drain, and dry operations
  • Distributes power to key components based on inputs from the user interface and sensors
  • Helps resolve issues such as no start/no response, cycles that won't advance or complete, or recurring error codes/beeping
  • Restores consistent control of wash performance and cycle sequencing
What's included: One control module assembly. Install notes:
  • Disconnect power at the breaker or unplug the dishwasher before servicing
  • Handle the board by the edges and use ESD precautions; avoid touching components
  • Move wiring harnesses over one connector at a time to match positions on the new module
  • After installation, restore power and run a test/service cycle or control reset per your model's tech sheet

Dave, Unfortunately we would not have connectors and the only way that you would be able to do this is to locate somewhere the connector and the pins that go in the connector and cut and splice the new pins to the wires and put them in the new connector.

Geoffrey, The most likely cause for this issue would be either there is no power getting to the unit or the control board on the unit is faulty. You will want to test at the control board to make sure that there is 120 vac to the board. If there is then the control board will be the most likely cause for failure.

Plg, It sounds like the water fill is not enough and would suggest checking for clogs in the water valve. If the water valve checks ok then the control board would likely be the issue.

A few months ago, I was not able to change cycles on the keypad however, the start button still worked. After this taking place the start button also stopped working as well. I replaced the Keypad and everything worked fine for another month. I purchased another new Keypad (since I thought the first one I had just bought may had been defective). Now the up and down arrows to change the cycle are not working again and the start button is not responding either. The only way to get the start button to respond, and the dishwasher to run, is by turning the breaker to the dishwasher on and off. Then it will run for a load or two and then become unresponsive again. Thanks

Hello Dustin, You should check for any signs of moisture in the control area. This will cause connection issues and electronic control issues. The gaskets around the venting is where a void will be present. The vent operation should also be verified as this can cause excessive moisture if malfunctioning. The keypad should be replaced again and the door switch assembly examined closely.

Hello John. Make sure the door switches are good on the unit. If so, you will need to order and replace the membrane WD34X11158 on the unit.

Dishwasher has intermittent to regular failure to start or finish a cycle. In most cases after pressing start and closing the door the washer adds water but fails to run. Other times it has started to run but quit at some time before soap was dispensed. I had observed the keypad "Power cycle" after starting the washer. I suspect the control module, but wonder about the latch as well. I have had "Wax Switches" go bad in the past and create issues similar to this on a washing machine.

1 Answer

Leo, It is possible that the microswitches in the latch assembly could be making intermittently and causing the issue but with how the unit is operating it sounds more likely that the control module is bad and would need to be replaced.

RC, You'll want to check and make sure you have enough water in the tub. Start the dishwasher, let it run 3 to 5 minutes, then unlatch the door, remove the lower rack. The water level in the front of the tub in the area of the float should be 1/2 to 3/4 inch deep, if not, there's not enough water to properly pressurize the pump and circulate the water. If the water level is in range, you'll need to remove the wash pump assembly WD26X10053 and check for a damaged impeller WD19X10038.

Jason, With the element staying on even though the unit was off would be a stuck relay on the control module which would need to be replaced. The part number is WD21X10370.
