For Samsung Dryer Heating Element Assembly (Part Number: OEM13027062)

Jose, as the white terminal is showing an open circuit when tested to the other two terminals, this would certainly indicate a bad element coil.

Greg for Model Number DV42H5200EW/A3

When taking apart my heating element assembly the red and blue wires were reversed on the heating element compared to your videos (blue wire on bottom and red on top on my dryer). We bought our dryer used and had issues with no heat right after buying (it came with a 4 month warranty and they fixed it). I want to make sure they didn’t put the wires on wrong. It has run fine for 2 years. Does it matter which wires attach to which lead? I’m guessing no since it ran fine for 2 years. I just want to check (Btw, I did confirm a short in the heating element).

Greg, It will not matter which wire goes to which terminal, both wires are live when the heater is turned on as one is the L1 supply and the other is the L2.

Hello Paul, sorry but cannot answer your question as you have the wrong heater element, it should only have 2 terminals Part DC97-14486A. A heater assembly with 3 terminals will be a dual element assembly.

Joseph, with the power cord disconnected from the outlet, you may want to test the heater relay on the main control DC92-00322E. There will be a two-wire connector with a black wire and a blue wire that will need to be disconnected from the heater relay. Once it is removed, this relay will need to be tested for continuity from one terminal to the other. If there is continuity, then the main control will need to be replaced due to a failed relay. From there, you will want to test the thermal cut-off DC96-00887C and the hi-limit thermostat DC47-00018A for continuity. The heating element DC97-14486A will also need to be tested for 10 ohms of resistance. If any component fails to test good, it will need to be replaced.

Hello Marty, This is a single coil element. This is why there are only two element terminals.

Greencrew, The blue wire on the heater is not available separately but you could get some high temperature wire TJMA0514G and hi temperature connectors TJMA02875-1 and replace the blue wire with these.
