Hello Mike, The cold water inlet valve 12002158 has failed. The two valves are completely separate components and one will work even if the other has failed even though they are made together.

Hi Joe. Un hook the motor. Try to see if the motor speed dramatically increases. If not it is part # WP21001950. Is the belt burnt ? part # WP22003483. It the brake fully releasing from the clutch part # 12002213 ? If the brake is stuck onto the rotor then the brake rotor is part # WP35-6714. The Stator is part # WP35-6918. Lift the top tub ring and use a flashlight to see if you find clothes balled up slowing the spin. Is the upper ?The tub spin bearing loud or leaking dirty water ? part # W10219156 this will slow it down. Is there anything stuck in the pump (bra under wire) slowing it down or the bearing on it bad part # WP35-6780. If the timer is not sending the 120 vac to the motor or is chattering loudly it is possible that the internal cams are arching and not sending the correct voltage to the motor. Use the wiring diagram supplied with the unit (behind the timer) and check motor voltage. If that you do have 120 vac then the motor switch contacts may be open not allowing the full spin speed to occur. Thank You.

Hi Don. More then likely it is the timer because the motor agitates in on direction and then the timer reverses power polarity for spin. The timer is part # WP22003499. Thank You.

Mike, You're on track, based on your post information. The thermistor on the fill valve, supplies resistance to the control board. the control board activates the water valve coils based on the resistance. Check for any loose wires and connections and replace the control board, and you'll be fine. Thanks and Good Luck

Hi Darlito. Is your pump squeeling? Is the belt burnt? This type of pump has a bearing sleeve that slides down on top of the pump and stops it from turning. This pump is part # WP35-6465. The belt is part # WP22003483. Thank you.

Keven for Model Number MAV7200AWW

The hot water valve doesnt seem to close on a wash or rinse setting. I can verify just about any other wash or rinse setting combination works by manually turning off the hot or cold water supply indepedently. My first thought was the wash temp hot/cold switch stuck in the on position electronically (button physically out). Also when selecting "auto temp", the led isn't lit and flashes on as if its getting shorted while pushing or pulling out the wash knob. Is this maybe the temp control board or/and the inlet valve with/thermister ? Thanks.

Hello Keven. Based on the information you provided, it sounds like the water valve 12002158 is stuck open and needs to be replaced. You can test and see if there is power going to the hot valve when it sticks. If so, it is a control issue. If there is no power there, it is a bad water valve. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps.http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Hello Greg. Did you check to see if the hoses were reversed on the back of the washer? Is it only letting hot water come into the machine? Thanks.

Hello Tom. The water valve on your unit uses a thermistor 12002158. This actually selects the temperature of the water for you. If it is bad, it can cause some water temperature issues. Hope this helps.
