This is a Whirlpool washer control board. This is the main control board behind the user interface, not to be confused with the motor control board located within the body of the washer. This part controls the main functions of the washer and toggles between different cycles. Certain functions may become unavailable intermittently when the main control board loses function. The washer may also continue to spin, not following the regular timeline of the cycle.Start the repair by pulling the control knob from the front of the washer. Pull the washer out from the wall to access the rear panel. Remove the screws from the back panel, and push back on the control panel while sliding a flat head under the right corner to release the mounting clip. Repeat this on the left side, and the central console should pull free. Release the clips for the wire harness and remove the air hose from the control board. Remove the mounting screws and pull the control board from its protective console. Reverse this process to install the new component. This product is a genuine OEM part sourced directly from the manufacturer. This part is compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, and JennAir appliances.

For Whirlpool Washer Control Board (Part Number: OEM18019011)

Frustrated_And_Confused for Model Number MAH4000AWW, Series 10

My washer worked great until one day it would not move through the cycles. I ended up buying a new timer, part number 22002992. A local appliance repair place recommended & ordered the part for me. After I put in the new timer and tried starting the washer, I got an odd buzzing sound, and the wall breaker went to the 'off' position. I also smelled something burning when I reopened the control panel. I noticed the R11 resistor was burned, so bought a replacement resistor and 600v triac, but this did no good... same results. Old timer would not advance and new timer caused breaker to blow and smokey smell. Do I need a new control board, different timer model, ????? Need help please!!

Wow, Lets do it like this, first, based on the model and series number (MAH4000aww series 10) You'll need to order and replace the control board WP22002989 timer WP22002786 and door lock wax motor kit 12002535 . The wax motor is the cause of the burnt R11 resistor, and solderring the control board, may have damaged it, and caused the damage to the timer. So, let's verify the parts and get the proper parts installed. The most common issue for MAH series washers that stop mid cycle is usually a fill issue so you'll want to disconnect the fill hoses, clean the filter screens in the hoses and valve, or replace the fill valve WP22002795. Make sure you've got everything wired and attached correctly, and the proper parts installed or replaced, then we'll need to go from there.

Lisa for Model Number MAH 4000 AWW

So far, my Authorized rep has replaced the Control Board, the Wax Motor, and the Spin Enable Switch but the remaining problem is that the machine just will not launch into the high spin cycle needed to wring the water out at the end of the cycle.I know that there is a Q6 triac that has 600 volts and 1 AMP which may be bad but I can't find out where it is - is it on the Control Board which means it has already been replaced? The only things left that I can figure are the Q6 triac, the wax motor spring, or the tub bearings. Please send me information as to the Q6 triac as well as instructions to replace the tub bearings. I have already spent over $400 and want to save my machine as it is now perfect except for this. The motor attempts to move into the high speed spin - I can hear it begin - but it then backs off" (as in giving up) and returns to the low-speed, tumble, spin which of course leaves the clothes wringing wet.Thank you for your help - the Rep is returning tomorrow night. Lisa

Lisa, What about a loose connection or faulty off balanced switch on the tub ? As for the tub bearings, they'll usually make some type of squeaking or squawking noise, when they start to go bad, so no noises would be a good indication that they're not bad, yet. The easiest way to explain this here, the technician needs to conduct all the 24 VDC checks in and out of the main control board, and check to insure all the internal contacts on all the wire connectors at the board are making proper contact and fit tight on the pin connectors on the board. If you do determine , the tub bearings are the issue, the individual parts are available and replaceable, and we can supply the information and a basic "how to" if you need it. As for the Q6 triac etc. that information is no longer available to us, so we can't be much of an assist there. Thanks and Good Luck

Hello Diego. Make sure all the out of balance switches are good, and the wires are not broke. Also, check the R-11 on the control board WP22002989 and see if it is burnt out. If so, replace the control board and the lock assembly WP22002119. Also make sure the spin enable switch and the door lock switch in the lock are good on the unit. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Mike, It won't be the control board, its most likely going to be a bad fill valve WP22002795 or water temperature switch 22002268 The control board is the least likeliest issue at this point. Thanks and Good Luck

Hello Lisa. You will need to check and see if the R-11 resistor is burnt on the control board WP22002989. If so, you will need to replace the control board and the wax motor WP22002119. If the resistor is good, you will need to check and see if the spin enable switch WP22002162 is bad. If so, it will cause the problems your having as well. Make sure all of the balance switches are good. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hi Gary. If you are positive that the pump is clear, Then check the control board behind the timer. See if R-43 is blown open on the board. This part # is WP22002989. If this is OK, then you will need to take the door and front panel off. this will give access to the lower rt. machine control board. Lift up the cover and physically inspect the transistors on the board for damage. If this is OK, Then you will need to replace the door latch wax motor part # WP22002119. Wax motor spring is part # 22003717. The door lock spin enable switch part # is 22003717. The door lock switch is part # 22003717. These parts correctly assembled per parts break down, will assist high speed spin. Thank you.

Joville for Model Number MAH4000AWW

This was my post; My timer would not move through the cycles, so I put a new timer on, still have the same problem. I was always able to move the timer manually (old/new) and all functions would work wash/rinse/spin however it just will not work automatically through the various cycles. What can you suggest may be the problem? Thanks. Hi Joville. Is Your pump clear? Is the drain pipe or the drain hose clear? This will stop the pressure switch from being satisfied and stop the machine. You will need to remove the front door and front panel . Then on the right front of the base is the motor control board. There should be a white or clear plastic cover with a 5/16" screw holding it down. Remove the cover and check to see if the black Transistors are not blown off the face of the board. This is a 3 phase electronic control board that gives you the high speed spin. This part # is 12002039 IF YOU HAVE SERIES 88" or before this will be the part you will need . It comes with the board and the new designed motor. Thank you.

Joville, What exactly is the issue with the washing machine ? I could not find any previous posts, and would like to assist you. You are correct, there are several wires between the timer and machine control board, and most are only active in certain portions of the cycle. A timer is not a common problem for this style and make of washer. We should be able to get you up and running with a bit more information. Thanks
