This replacement part is a control board for an ice maker. Control boards serve as the main computer that controls the functions of the ice machine. Before installing this part, unplug the ice maker and pull it away from the wall. Then unthread screws of the access cover to the control panel. Use a putty knife to pry the cover off and proceed to remove the screws securing the top panel. Use a nut driver to remove the rear panel. Lift the top panel up and have someone hold it upright. Remove the screws that hold the control housing on the top panel. Once control housing has been released, remove the screws securing the grounding wire to set the panel aside. Then with a Phillips head screwdriver, unthread the screws that hold the control board. Depress the tab to release the board. Note the orientation of the wire connectors and disconnect them from the board. Re-secure the wire connectors to their correct terminals and pop the new control board back in place. Reinstall the panels that were removed. This genuine replacement part is a control board compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Sears/Kenmore brand ice machines.

Hello Bob, If the holes in the water dispenser stop up with mineral deposits and debris from the water supply, the center holes tend to allow more water to pass that the ends. With this in mind, I believe it's time for you to clean the unit. There is a special cleaner WX08X42870 for these free standing units that prevents damage to the evaporator. It is nickel safe to protect the material the evaporator coil is made of, (high nickel content).

Bob C. for Model Number G1500xhw0 15 " whirlpool floor model

See my first question at the top of the page.. I purchased the new control board from you .Installed it. Now the machine is making ice again , However it still goes in to the surging mode because the water pump is not getting water. After a while it starts pumping water and making ice again. If I shut off the ice maker and restart it it starts pumping water into the resevior and pumping water to the plate. Seems like the NEW control board is flaky just like my old one only not as bad. It looks like these boards are rebuilt? is it possible that the relays were not replaced on this new board or is there anything else in the system that would cause this problem. I appreciate your help.

Hello Bob. It sounds like the water valve W10801996 may not be bringing water into the unit at all times. If so, replace the valve. If the unit runs like there is water, but there is none, replace the pump WP2217220 on the unit.

Hello Bob, The only thing I can think of that will cause this is a sticking contact in one of the relays on the control board WP2304016.

Hello, This sounds like a sealed system issue. Sounds like the reversing valve 2208467 is stuck in the defrost position. The reversing valve reverses the circulation of the freon to cause the cold coils to become the hot coils for the harvest of the cubes. After the harvest cycle, the reversing valve is supposed to reverse the freon circulation again to cause the evaporator coil to get cold again. KUIS18NNJB8

Ronnie, check and make sure there is plenty of water to the fill valve. Slow or low pressure will cause the accumulative circuit in the control board to turn the clean light on. If the water pressure is proper, then you'll need a new control board WP2304016.

Hi Teemech. The green clean light may also mean that the condenser coils need cleaned. Use compressed air to insure they are cleaned. Make sure the condenser fan assy. part # W10822259 is turning up to speed and the fan blade is clean. On the rt.of the bin there is a bin thermister. The thermostat WPW10503764 can be tested for ohms with a meter. It should read around 10K at room temperature. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Thank You.

Randy 3 for Model Number KUIA15NRHS6

Correction to previous postings 1. Correct model KUI15NRHS6 2. Yes the resevoir gets filled with water (fill valve work fine) 3. recirculating pump runs continuesly ( not sure how long will time it this evenig) 4. The freezing plate doesent seem to get cold enough to start the ice making process. water just runs continuesly over the plate. (I know there is a term for when the plate changes (freezing the water and releasing the slab) temperature but cant rememeber it)
