Cathleen Harrison January 16, 2020 for Model Number WRS555SIHV00 We bought this refrigerator last year and the ice maker has been a pain from the beginning. This time I cant figure it out. It was making ice just fine until I replaced the filter, now it will not make ice. The water dispenser works great and I flushed 4 gallons of water through it using the 5 seconds to dispense/ 5 secs off method. Can you help me figure out what the issue is? The arm goes down and checks and I hear the tray dump but the water is not filling the ice tray. Thank you in advance!
1 Answer Cathleen, You will want to check the fill tube to make sure that it is not frozen. This would be the most likely cause of the issue. If the tube is not frozen then it would be recommended to see if the water valve is getting power to it. If it is then the water valve would be the issue. Read More...
Scott January 05, 2020 for Model Number 10651783412 icemaker was stuck upside down/tray twisted/clicking noise.purchased new part w10873791 and replaced it but not filling with water and no ice still.i double check everything plugged back in but still not working.everything was working normal until it started clicking and tray got stuck upside down.is there a reset procedure that must be done when icemaker is replaced?
1 Answer Hello Scott, at the bottom freezer door hinge check to see if any of the wires coming out of the door are cut/pinched/damaged, if the wire harness is needed it is part of the freezer door. Read More...
Dale November 29, 2019 for Model Number 106.51335710 ser HR83427671 mfg aug 2018 My ice Maker stopped working, Would it be possible to get a sequence of operation list and perhaps a wiring diagram. I have read the bits and pieces on here and would like to have the full info. Including what the control board does and it's inputs/ output voltages. Thank you .
1 Answer Dale, We will send you the tech sheet/wiring diagram for your unit. Basically the control reads the thermistor of the ice maker and determines when to dump the ice and refill with water. The thermistor is looking for a certain temperature so any issues with cooling like condenser clogged or defrost problem will certainly affect ice making, Read More...
Jason November 23, 2019 for Model Number Kenmore Refrigerator Ice Maker W10873791 The ice maker quit working. I tested continuity on the on/off switch and it is working properly. Water filter and water dispenser work fine, but no ice. Ice was in the tray, but was not dumped and does not refill. How can I run a diagnostic test? Or do I just need to replace this part W10873791.
1 Answer Jason, We will need your model number to help you find the right parts for your unit. Please post another question with all your info included thank you. Read More...
G. Hansen September 28, 2019 for Model Number kenmore 10651783412 Unit not making ice. I have run test 45 (Sankyo and LIPM Icemaker Water fill test). This test seems to work as expected. Ran test 44 (Sankyo Icemaker Harvest Test). The result of the test is 21 (Ice bucket full detected). But the ice bucket is not full. I see an arm go down and back up up from the icemaker during the test. I assume this arm is part of the ice bucket full detector? During the test, the tray is not flipping over to eject the ice. Could the ice bucket full detector be faulty? Is the ice bucket full detector part of the icemaker ? (Part AP6026347). Would replacing the icemaker fix the problem?
1 Answer The ice maker W10873791 would be the most likely cause due to the ice arm being responsible for sensing when the ice bin is full. The ice maker not rotating identifies that the ice maker is failing to sense properly rather than it being a control failure. Read More...
Greg Chase September 07, 2019 for Model Number WRS571CIHZ01 I purchase this Whirlpool refrigerator and it was just delivered The ice maker will not make ice, the lever which should be in the down position won’t budge and is in the up position. When looking at the bottom of the small ice tray that’s in there has a water line going into a plastic block in the center of the ice tray. It was delivered to us and has 2 wire ties around the plastic block, I don’t think they belong there and it may be the reason the ice maker lever won’t move. Should these have been cut off before this was delivered or do they belong there.
1 Answer To the best of our knowledge, there are no wire ties that would remain attached to any plastic block or other components of the ice maker or dispenser assembly. Check to make sure the ice maker has been turned "ON" ( Open the freezer door and remove the ice storage bin. Locate the ice maker switch on the left wall of the storage area). Once you remove the wire ties and lower the "bail arm" on the ice maker, allow the ice maker to cycle for 24 hours, discard the accumulated cubes and then use the cubes from then on. Read More...
Steve June 17, 2019 for Model Number KitchenAid KRSC503ESS00 Ice Maker part: W10873791 My icemaker is not producing ice. The ice maker seems to be operating through it's harvest cycle. Using the service sheet instructions I tried to cycle it through the Sanyo and LPIM icemaker water fill test (Step 44 & 45). The instructions say that after a harvest cycle when the tray moves to the home position I should be able to start and pause ice maker fill. However it says that the fill/pause button on the diagnostic front display won't work until the ice maker is in the home position. While it's moving to home position the front display reads 01 but never changes. I physically checked the icemaker and it looks like its in the home position. I checked continuity on fill solenoid and it read 200 ohms like the drinking water solenoid. The drinking water solenoid operates normally so I know water pressure is good. Do I replace the icemaker of is there something else I can check to be sure I've got the right approach before I order the part? Thanks in advance. I mistakenly asked the question in the wrong part section so I've resubmitted the question here.
Doug June 07, 2019 for Model Number KRSC503ESS00 Okay, I replaced the ice maker piece and it is still not making ice. Is there a diagnostic I can run to determine what the issue is? Do I need to reset something?
1 Answer Doug, there is a testing procedure that can be done from the user interface that will allow for testing the icemaker harvest and the icemaker water fill. What you will want to do before this test is ensure that the icemaker switch behind the ice bin is showing continuity when in the on position and that the bin sensing switch shows continuity when engaged. You will also want to check to ensure that there is not an ice build up in the water inlet tube to the icemaker. This will ensure that the testing from the user interface is as accurate a test as possible. Further information to assist with this testing procedure will be sent to you. Read More...
1 Answer Douglas, you are going to want to remove the ice bin. Once the bin is removed, there is going to be screws that hold the ice maker cover to the door that will be removed. After they are removed, the cover will move up and out, allowing access to the ice maker. Read More...
Allen February 20, 2019 for Model Number KRSC503ESS00 My ice maker stoped working. From the tech sheet, the harvest test works, but finished with code 23. When I run test 45 (filltest) I can hear the tray moving back to home, but the 01 indication never changes. I replaced the ice maker this evening and getting the same symptoms. It seem that the system never realizes the tray is home and that prevents the fill cycle from happening. Any advise will be appreciated. Thank you.
1 Answer Allen, With the icemaker having been replaced this would most likely be caused by a faulty control board that is not reading the icemaker properly. Read More...
