Replaced the entire outer glass assy. Read more

Removed 3 screws on top of door, 3 screws on bottom if door which released glass front. Then removed 4 nuts on sheet metal window cover to get to window. To get to the broken glass there was one tab on the corner of the window frame that had to be bent upward to loosen the frame. Removed the broken glass, slid in the new glass, re tightened the frame and put everything back together. Very carefully. The official Frigidaire repairman's quote was $250, despite my already removing the door. I complained to the companies customer service answering machine that this is about 40% of the cost of a new stove. The quote was unreasonably high since it appeared that a trained monkey could replace the glass in about 15 minutes. It took this trained monkey about 30 minutes to replace the glass. Due to unknown cause, while cooking dinner one evening, the front glass of the oven completely fractured. Sounded like a small gunshot then there was glass everywhere. Internet search showed that this seems to be a common problem. Repair was straight forward. Ordered new glass door. Searched Youtube on how to remove the door from the oven.
