If your dryer won't stay lit or shuts off after a few minutes, the gas limiter may be faulty. This regulator controls safe gas flow to the burner.
Removed LP Orifice and LP Gas limiter. Orifice was easy, however the gas limiter was the tricky one because I had no instructions to what went where. I could not find anything online as to how to convert from LP to Natural Gas, but you could find several things as to how to convert from Natural to LP. I ended up finding the Dryer schematic on line for the Whirlpool Duet natural gas dryer and was able to figure out what sequence the Spring, regulator and limiter went in. The order I just... Dryer door won't stay closed? The door strike secures the door latch during operation. Quick DIY fix—installs from the front in minutes.
My dryer door would not stay shut because the door strike was stuck in the door catch. I was afraid that when I pulled the strike out, it would damage the catch, so I ordered the door strike and door catch. I got the damaged door strike out with needle nosed pliers in about 15 seconds. The door catch was in perfect condition so I didn't need to use the one I ordered. So then I proceeded to install the new door strike. That took me about 15 minutes because I did not have the manual strength to... Read more

Dryer won't heat or start? This thermal fuse cuts power when temperatures get too high. Test with a multimeter for continuity. Easy DIY repair.
Did some dryer repair research (dryer not heating) on the internet. Bought an ohm meter, opened up the dryer and tested the cut-off-T, high limit thermostat, dryer igniter, flame sensor, cycling thermostat for continuity. The igniter was bad, the other parts tested ok. Went online to AppliancePartsPros.com searched for a new igniter for my specific dryer model, found the right replacement igniter and watched the video on how to replace the igniter. Because my dryer is old (15+ years) and I... Read more

Dryer heating element cycling on and off too frequently or clothes taking hours to dry? Replace the cycling thermostat. 30-45 minute DIY repair.
I removed the front panel and observed the heating element while running the dryer. It was cycling off every minute or so and staying off for several minutes. Even though it was likely the high temp cycling thermostat I replaced both the 14, and 15 cycling thermostats which I think are the original factory units. That makes them nearly 35 years old. Problem fixed. Read more

Fix a dryer that won't heat or spins without igniting. This igniter assembly lights the gas burner to start drying cycles. Common DIY repair, 30-45 minutes.
Frigidaire Gallery gas dryer from maybe 15 years ago. Based on the fact the the smell was only in the dryer, I concluded it must be the gas valve failing to completely seal when closed. After looking at the insides again, I suppose it is possible that it was a connection near the burner, but that stuff had remained untouched for 10 years so I still think I made a good assumption. I got a new ignitor as well since I was in there, and compared to the valve, it was cheap! I thought I could get in... Read more
Replaces missing, stripped, or rusted 8-18 thread screws that secure dryer panels, brackets, and components for tight, rattle-free assembly.
It was easy to find the part on appliance parts pros. Once I found it I studied the diagram and determined that there were 3 screws in the drum that needed to be removed. I disconnected power and then removed 3 interior screws. Once I did that I removed the back cover and removed the single screw on the bottom side of the air duct that held it in place connected to the heat tube. I then reversed disassembly. I want to tell you this is a 2 person job. In order to assemble it you need to... Read more
