Washer won't spin or leaves clothes wet? This clutch retaining clip secures the clutch assembly for proper transmission engagement. DIY repair.
Replaced transmission (that was the problem) and clutch (if you're going to tear it down put in a new clutch - they're cheap). APPRO's video was a big help. Everything went as they showed except transmission does not just slide out. You have to work it in and out several times. Once it breaks free it will slip out. This was my first transmission. It was not nearly as hard as I had thought it would be. Read more

Washer overfilling or not filling properly? A damaged pressure switch hose prevents accurate water level sensing. Easy 15-minute DIY fix with video.
I read the FAQ section of Appliance Pros parts web site. I found out I needed to replace the temperature control switch, WPW10248240, to correct my problem. This switch also controls the tub filling water level based on air pressure via the attached vinyl tubing. I ordered the switch and the tubing, WP353255, in case mine was no longer any good, and I also ordered the retaining clips for the control cabinet, (2) of WP8312709, because they can be damaged when accessing the controls. My new... Read more
Washer won't stop spinning smoothly or makes loud jerking noise when stopping? The brake shoe stops the tub during spin cycles. DIY repair in 1-2 hours.
First I looked at the many you tube vids, and there are many. appliance parts pros pretty much shows you how to deal with the parts. I changed the brake shoes and the clutch assembly which also comes with the driver cam. I also changed the metal brake operating cam. I think that brake lockup or improper brake release was the problem that broke the plastic cam driver. This was the broken plastic part making all the ticking noise. I first changed the coupling on the motor but that wasn't bad. in... Read more

THIE REPAIR WAS ON A WHIRLPOOL TOP LOAD WASHING MACHINE At first I suspected the leak was from the pump because I had replaced the pump 2 times over 10 years. This time with the cabinet removed and filling the tub with water, I saw water running down one of the steel support arms that go under the tub, so I was guessing that it was coming from the tub seal. I had to use a jumper wire to bypass the Lid Switch so the water would drain. Several months before I had this issue with the water leaking... Read more

The parts were approximately 1/2 the price the local guy wanted. OEM parts. Perfect fit on replacement. The Whirlpool is so well made, it was very easy to repair. It has several items, over the years, which failed. In all cases, repair was painless with a few common hand tools and a tad of patience. AppliancePartsPros had... Read more
