It was easy to find the part on appliance parts pros. Once I found it I studied the diagram and determined that there were 3 screws in the drum that needed to be removed. I disconnected power and then removed 3 interior screws. Once I did that I removed the back cover and removed the single screw on the bottom side of the air duct that held it in place connected to the heat tube. I then reversed disassembly. I replaced the hinge due to the hinge spring breaking. To replace the hinge you do the following: 1. Disconnect power to stove, either at circuit box or at outlet. 2. Lift door off of outside hinge arms ; no screws are used to attach the door to the hinge 3. Remove two screw on under side of cook top, one on each side. 4. Disconnect cook top connector. 5. I checked the continuity on the thermal fuse (which was blown) and knew that it needed to be replaced. This made me question why it blew (i.e. what caused it to fail). I checked continuity on the thermostat (high limit) as well as the thermostat for the element. Both passed a continuity test, so I removed the high limit thermostat to inspect it and could hear it rattling inside. I ordered two replacement baffles and screws, then lifted the top of the dryer to access the drum and installed the two new baffles. Read more

The problem was partly caused because the original legs were at full extension. The replacement legs were longer than the originals and were more secure at the needed length. I determined that it was a problem that occurred during the defrost cycle by resetting the GFCI outlet and forwarding the defrost timer until the defroster came on. Once the defrosting began, the GFCI outlet would reliably trip. I took apart the shielding inside of the freezer and tested the defrosting without the heating element or the thermostat connected. The replacement hinge unit arrived in just two days. The JennAire (Maytag) oven door is fairly typical in that it easily lifts off of the hinge bars. Once the door is off then removing two screws is all that's required to remove the hinge unit from the oven. The new hinge slides up into place and while you hold it up inside of its location putting the old screws back in is very easy. I looked inside and saw the teeth were worn off the "dogs" so I purchased the Cam Agitator repair kit and a new bolt. Getting the old bolt out was the hardest part since it was worn and rusted. I ended up having to buy a set of socket extensions and a set of stripped bolt sockets so $45 in tools and it took me an hour to get the old bolt out but putting everything back together was a breeze.
