• Marks left on clothes

After replacing thermal fuse once and having it fail a second time, I had to dig a little deeper to uncover the problem. I checked for blockage in the vent but everything was clear. Since finding out pulley on motor is factory installed, I had to order a new motor with new pulley on it. I could not remove old blower wheel from old motor, no matter how hard I tried so I had to purchase new blower wheel and new blower housing. I had the original sensors in my Frigidaire, which were now about 18 years old. The water dispenser would work, but I would have to push in the lever and then draw it back until it found that "sweet spot." I finally got annoyed enough with the problem that I looked online. I almost purchased the dispenser actuator (the paddle), and glad I didn't because it was not the problem. Initially I noticed the crusher drum was cracked and broken so I replaced the drum the retaining nut on the end of the auger and the circlip and washer. it worked fine for a time and then the drum began free wheeling. upon further inspection I discovered the retain nubs on the auger had worn down allowing the blade to slip down the auger body. so I replaced the auger, drum, drive blade, and drive cam. For about the last month or so the clothes (especially sheets) would just roll into a ball (like a big sausage) the wouldn't dry. Kept readjusting the clothes. I went on the internet to see what the issue could be and found lots of advise about shaking out the sheet and clothes first, using tennis balls, and using fuller or smaller loads. My problem started with a rusting condition in the ice bin that spiraled out of hand. I took apart the ice bin and all the hardware thinking I could clean it with the suggested baking powder. Plastic parts cleaned up like new, metal parts were pitted. I wire brushed and sanded the parts put it all back together and gave it a try. I wasn't sure if it was the door being warped, the spring return being worn, or the rotary damper failing, so I ordered all to update the door mechanism. Changed the drum rollers, belt, and idler pulley wheel. Was not sure which one was making the noise but all three were well used and many years old. One of the drum wheels was the culprit. very easy and straightforward repair with no assistance. Read more

• Light not working

Went to the Internet, entered the make and model number, read possible causes, viewed videos on fixes and determined it was probably the socket. Viewed the schematic to determine the correct part number. Ordered a new socket. Received it within three days and in less than 5 minutes replaced the light socket.
