With all the bouncing around the shocks appeared to be done in but that was not the issue. The key was the balance ring. It had leaked all the fluid out causing all the beads to clump. First I took off the spring loaded wire ring holding down the seal to the door with needle nose pliers. Pulled back the seal. Removed the 3 screws holding the part on the front of the washing machine. Slid the piece out. Took the protector guard off the off piece and unplug the wires. Put the wires into new part. I first check the schematics to find the heat sensor. On my model it's c on the control panel. I checked the continuity on the orange and white wires. It showed some continuity but not much. The start button had been tricky to use. You had to push it in just a certain way to get the dryer to start. Eventually it was non-responsive. All other controls worked and there was no error code displayed. The repair was to replace the whole control board which cost around $100. Heavy sigh.. Be sure to keep track of all your screws. After discovering the cause of the leak was horrific engineering on Samsung's part. I ordered the nozzle connector (which was the failed part) and the check valve ball. Repairs were done in short order, and the machine was up and running again. So with the cost of the parts (crazy amounts for shipping), over $300 for a new floor (as the other was totally ruined by the flood of water from the machine) and three days of my time to reconstruct the laundry room, I'd say all went well.
