Unpluged dryer first. Then took the lint filter out and removed the two philips screws inside the lint filter lid. I posted the following on the Facebook page ; SOoooo my 10 year old clothes dryer stopped and like almost everyone else I just figured it's shot, burned up, gotta get a new one. Well, due to a few bumps in the road I cannot afford another problem. My 2 vehicles are not running and with one being in the shop for 3 weeks and not being able to afford a rental car anymore this dryer was another headache. It sat for weeks and laundry started piling up. While looking online for sales somehow I... Read more
Dryer not heating or taking multiple cycles to dry? This heating element kit restores heat generation. DIY-friendly repair, typically done in minutes.
I had to pop the lid up from the front with a screw driver, and behind the element was a metal piece, a heat shield, that had two screws that had to be removed from the back. The little part with the blue round tag (part of the kit that came with the element) was easily removed with one screw. Likewise, the element had a single longer screw holding it in on the right, and on the left a little rod was sticking through a hole in the metal, and you can merely move it to the side and up the slot,... Our Maytag gas clothes dryer was not drying like it should/used to and was making a lot of noise. After researching online I figured the vent was partially blocked and/or the blower wheel was bad. When I took it apart, the vent had very little lint in the lower elbow exiting the back of the dryer but the blower wheel was loose on the shaft and was missing the clamp. I cleaned out the vent and put a hose clamp on the blower wheel to tighten it to the shaft and tried it again. The noise was... Read more

The root cause was the front glides. They were virtually gone, and the drum was on metal to metal. So I replaced them with a front glide kit. I also replaced the belt, rear rollers, and lint screen. I am happy to say all the parts fit perfectly, and I couldn't find a better price anywhere else. I will definitely keep you on file for the next time I need appliance parts! Thank you! I took the dryer apart.....first had to clean out all the lint here and there. Took the drum out, inspected the belt and back support wheels. They seemed to be fine. In the front the drum turns on two supports that have a Teflon glide. Those two glides had been worn off with their pad so metal was rubbing against metal. Went online to appliancepartspros.com and looked up on the schematic what parts I needed. I also had called around locally and the same parts cost twice as much....so I... Read more

Overall the fix wasn't too hard. The challenge was putting the oven door back together and holding it together while trying to tighten the screws. Enlisted my wife's help to hold the door and at first the handle screws wouldn't tighten. My cordless screwdriver's battery was under-charged. Once I switched batteries I was able to tighten the screws. Seemed like I needed to push too hard (my wife freaked "not so hard you will strip them!") however pushing hard was what was needed. Both screws... Read more
