This lock assembly secures the appliance door/lid and enables normal cycle starts by engaging the latch. Replaces a worn or broken lock to restore proper door closure and allow the unit to begin and complete cycles reliably. What it does

Physically latches the door/lid so the appliance can start and run
Provides the mechanical engagement the control checks before permitting operation
Common symptom: door won't stay closed or latch does not engage
Common symptom: appliance won't start, won't advance or shows a door/lock fault

Disconnect power (and water supply for washers) before beginning any service
Handle small parts carefully and note their orientation for reassembly
If wiring is present, disconnect and reconnect matching connectors only; do not force
