This is a decorative trim bezel that surrounds the lid lock mechanism on a top-load washing machine, finished in chrome shadow. It snaps into place around the lid lock area to provide a clean, finished appearance. Replace this bezel if it is cracked, discolored, or broken, which can also affect proper lid lock alignment.

After using the tech sheet and measuring the ohms of the two micro switches that sends signals when the door is shut and locked, determined the lock was faulty.
