The evaporator fan had stopped working and caused the entire area around it to ice up. No air flow was getting from the freezer to the fridge. I replaced the damper control (it was rusted, not sure if it was workign or not) and the evaporator fan. It was a very quick repair once I diagnosed the problem. First had to clean inside the empty freezer, that was the hard part. removed old gasket and cleaned inside the track in the door. had the new gasket well warmed and in the right shape. put new gasket in track. seating it firmly.
