I wanted to get the upper oven baking element replaced; it hasn't been working for a few months. This double oven has had two other issues, there is a fan that comes on to cool the electronics panel, That fan has made excessive noise and it operates for 2-3 hours after the oven turns off. I purchased a burner and a oven orifice replacement kit from Appliance Parts Pros. I downloaded an installation manual from Whirlpool and followed the instructions. It was pretty easy. The front burner orifices could be replaced by just taking off the burner cover. The back ones required removing the burner diffuser. You will need to reattach the back burner bottom assembies after you remove the diffuser before you unscrew the orifice or it might bend the burner piping causing it to not line up... Read more

The repair went fine, except that the broil element connector wires both retreated into the back of the stove, as was warned in the video. First and foremost I UNPLUGGED THE OVEN!. I'll pass on the early morning SHOCK THERAPY! Second, I unscrewed aluminum protection plate from back of oven. Next, I unplugged the two connections behind the oven switch. Then I removed the plastic switch from the front and unscrewed the two screws that secured the oven switch to the oven. My stove is probably 15 years old and when I was removing the screws that hold the burner in place on top of the stove top, both of them broke off so I had to replace the entire assembly.
