I watched a video by AppliancePartPros, and it showed the exact problem that I was having as well as what part that I would need for the repair. So I ordered the part which was and oven igniter, that also turned out to be the exact replacement for my old igniter.The part came in the mail in a about 3 days and I was able to install it myself in about 20 minutes give or take, with simple hand tools, then I did a quick test and everything worked fine. I replaced the Oven Igniter. After ensuring that it was the igniter, by turning on the stove and taking out the oven bottom. Watch if it turns red. If not, then either the wiring is faulty, or the igniter went bad. The bulb was due to a loose and broken light bulb, can't use any normal bulb, these ones are specially made to withstand the heat. There are hex screws keeping the igniter in place. I think they were 5/16...so you have to have a socket wrench. The space is kind of tight, and it's all on the right side, so if you're left handed (like I am) it's going to be a challenge to get the hex screws out without dropping them. Dropping them isn't too bad if they don't fall into the hole the gas pipe is coming through. Unfortunately one of them fell in there, and there's no getting it out of there. The bake (bottom burner) worked after replacing the ignitor. Becareful and do not drop the ignitor or the element will break. I found out the hard way. After many years of excellent service the burner I use most often on the top of my JenAir range rusted through. After trying to remove the burner, which was firmly rusted into place, I decided to replace the cooktop pan, both burners and igniters. Replaced the igniter, Simple but there are several points to remember. TURN THE POWER OFF 1) remove the oven door or you will have a hard time reaching the back of the oven. Mine just lifted off. 2) The igniter tip is fragile put a drop cloth over the oven floor in case you drop it even after it is in its holder. 3) The drop cloth will catch screws too if you drop them so they won't fall into the oven. 4) The cable from the oven is very short even after pulling it out from the hole at the back.... Replaced ingniter. Unlike some of the repair videos I saw, I could do everything by removing the lower draw, and in fact access from the back of the stove was not an option on my Amana. Pulling the stove out and fussing around turned a likely ten minute job in to a twenty minute. Unit work great, now I just need to keep tabs on the broiler igniter, which may be on the way out as well. Read more

We replaced both front orifice holders. Very easy to bend and break. If it has a deep bend in it, It will slow down the gas flow to the burner. if you have a low gas flow your burner will burn low So check your small silver gas lines and if you smell gas check your lines Read more

Called a repairman and he told us we needed to change a bunch of parts and would cost over $400! Decided to do some research online and found suggestions to replace the spark igniter. Decided to give it a try. Took about 10min to replace and oven is now working perfectly, for a total of $30! Read more
