Whirlpool W10443315 Refrigerator Freezer Door Gasket OEM Part

We first emptied out the freezer to another freezer, turned off the refrigerator, and let it defrost. We ordered a freezer door gasket from Appliance Parts and it arrived within a few days. We watched the video on how to replace it, followed the directions, and the gasket was successfully replaced. However, while the freezer was off, I cleaned the inside. Unfortunately, we turned it on before it completely dried and the water in the tracks caused the drawers to stick. Now we have turned the freezer off again and are letting things dry. We'll coat the tracks with petroleum jelly before we turn it back on again. Hopefully, we didn't break anything when we tried to get the freezer open with the tracks frozen!!!

Left new gasket on the table overnight so it could stretch out. Removed the door. Temporarily replaced it with plastic and tape. Pulled off old gasket. Cleaned surfaces with decreaser and wiped dry with paper towels and alcohol. Inserted new gasket. Replaced door.

The bottom part of the freezer gasket already pulled out from its seated home, so I cut it with scissors and removed gasket.. Cleaned seated area and installed new. Super easy, pressed in diagonal corners, then worked my way to the middle. The worrysome part was letting all the cold air escape, so I stuck a couch cushion in place of the door when I removed it, which was 8-1/4" screws easily removed with a drill or by hand.

I ordered the gasket from ApplianceParts and installed it myself within minutes. First of all, I soaked the part in very hot water and used a hair blow dryer to dry it completely and soften the gasket while installing. On your complimentary video, the technician suggested installing it from corner to corner, diagonally, first, then fitting in the sides, and that suggestion was very helpful.
