I purchased part #85753076A, Whirlpool Fabric Softener Dispenser. Popped off the top from the agitator and popped on the fabric softener dispenser. It took me less than a minute and it works perfectly! No more missing the rinse cycle!!! Read more

My Mom's Kenmore had a burnt plastic smell after a thunderstorm. Found motor capacitor had melted through, dumping liquid platic "spaghetti" onto the insulation blanket under the washer. There was a horrible screeching noise coming from the washer, and upon inspection I found that the retaining nut that attaches the cam to the machine was either improperly tightened to begin with or had worked itself loose causing the cam to wobble and the belt to work down the cam. The cam gear teeth became worn and the belt worked itself half off the cam and cut a hole in the protective plastic screen containing the whole ensemble. I purchased the belt, shield and cam kit. Appeared to be two problems: the latch was worn and one of the pins that slid in a guide on the actuator located in the inner panel had broke off. Detergent lid spring and pin appeared to be OK but decided to replace since I was aready working on it. I ordered all the inner panel mechanism from the control arm to the latch actuator on the inner panel. The repair was successful as the detergent dispenser now opens during its cycle. Read more

Purchased a fabric softener dispenser from appliance parts pros removed cap from agitator and replace with the new fabric softener dispenser and problem solved. Read more

Took the old part off and fitted the new one. I used the old plastic ball from the old hose and it worked fine. Next time I would replace the original clamp with a 4 inch hose clamp. The original clamp is way tooooooooooo hard to put back on....with a different clip it would be a 10 minute job at most. Read more

• Burning smell

I decided to repair my Amana LWA50AW top loader washer because it has served us well, it is made by Speed Queen and an equal replacement is expensive. These are very dependable washers. The parts I ordered were: part #R9900552 (hub and seal kit) This kit does not include the Tub or Main bearing!!! Nor the drive belt!!! Replace front legs and rear legs took about 30 minutes. Made sure rear legs had lithium grease applied ran a load of wash very little Vibration nothing compared to before legs were installed and balanced the machine with a level. Read more
