Initially I noticed the crusher drum was cracked and broken so I replaced the drum the retaining nut on the end of the auger and the circlip and washer. it worked fine for a time and then the drum began free wheeling. upon further inspection I discovered the retain nubs on the auger had worn down allowing the blade to slip down the auger body. so I replaced the auger, drum, drive blade, and drive cam. After watching numerous videos I was able to discern that the problem was with one of the following: the timer, the heater, or the thermostat. a short time check showed me that the timer was working so that narrowed it down to the other two. Shut off ref for 2 hrs. Restarted and it made 1 batch of ice cubes which melted in a couple hours. Got the model # but couldn't find the part that looked like mine. Called APP.com and we matched it perfectly in 2 min. Very simple repair! Read more

The online video to change the water tube from the solenoid to filter was very helpful. It made the project straightforward. I had to replace the water tank tube as well. It was more challenging because there was no video for my model refrigerator (Frigidaire French Door) but a side-by-side unit video provided enough hints. Replaced the fan and blade. Would have been easy except the mounting threads were different than the original Kenmore freezer came with. After a 14 mile round trip for 2 5/32 screws and washers, I had my freezer back. Included an improved wiring harness than the original. Read more
