Protective cover that encloses the drive belt and motor pulley. Replace yours if cracked, warped, worn through, or missing to shield moving parts.
There was a horrible screeching noise coming from the washer, and upon inspection I found that the retaining nut that attaches the cam to the machine was either improperly tightened to begin with or had worked itself loose causing the cam to wobble and the belt to work down the cam. Plastic trim bezel that mounts around the lid lock on your top-load washer's panel. Replace if cracked, broken, or missing to restore a clean finish.
Put in new lid lock. This is my second one in 1 year. Whirlpool suggested I leave it loose so that if somebody did try and force it open, it wouldn't break it. This lid lock has 4 wires and cannot be bypassed. Read more

I had already broken down (took apart) my dryer one other time to replace some parts and did this again to install a new blower wheel fan and the repairs/replacement went well knowing full well that when I had the dryer apart last time around and knew of the slight break in the old blower wheel--I should of ordered a new part for this then!!! This cap is a small protective cover used in select appliances. It helps secure and seal its mating component, preventing leaks, debris intrusion, or loosening during normal operation.
Removed the back cover. (Glad I used my power tool to remove all the screws) I then removed the sheared off part of the bolt using drill and easy-out tool. It was a straightforward install of the new bolt. I added a little bit of blue Loctite even though the bolt already had some dry thread sealer. I torqued it down enough to hold everything snug.
