Crosley Washer Brake & Clutch Parts

Replaced washer drive block and Cam. I called around and finally settled on Appliance Parts Pros because they helped diagnose the problem, told me what parts to replace and had videos to show me how to do it. I watched a video on YouTube that showed my exact problem. It had a link to this part AP5665171 Hub and it showed how to fix it. It was a fairly simple fix. I did not even have to remove the tub. I popped the cap on top of the agitator plate (AGP), removed the bolt hold the AGP on. I tapped on the bolt several time to loosen it. Using an angled screw driver, carefully and slowly lifted up the edges of the AGP until I could use my fingers to carefully pull the AGP off the splined drive... Read more

We watched the videos posted on AppliancePartsPros.com website several times before starting the work. Once we were confident of the process, we jumped in with the complete disassembly of the washing machine's drum rotating assembly...everything that touched the drum or made it rotate. I ordered what I thought were the necessary parts from appliancepartspro.com as my washing machine wouldn't spin. I should have watched there videos before I began as I took the whole cabinet off and everything and after receiving the parts and watching their video realized I didn't need to do so, at that point in time. First I looked at the many you tube vids, and there are many. appliance parts pros pretty much shows you how to deal with the parts. I changed the brake shoes and the clutch assembly which also comes with the driver cam. I also changed the metal brake operating cam. I think that brake lockup or improper brake release was the problem that broke the plastic cam driver. This was the broken plastic part making all the ticking noise. Because the washer would stop mid cycle and would start again after some period of time, I presumed that there was something amiss in the drive train (i.e. motor, transmission, belt). Took the unit apart and discovered that two of the three brake pads were destroyed. Motor turned easily as did the transmission. Replaced the brake pads and reassembled. Now the washer doesn't stop as before, but will blow by all cycles never stopping to drain, spin, or rinse. It appears that they damaged... Read more
