I was actually getting an error code for the shifter and speed sensor. I ordered a shifter, which included the speed sensor, and replaced that part but the washer still didn't work. After doing some more research online, someone mentioned that the capacitor may be bad. After talking to my dad, who is an electrician, he said it sounded like my problem could very well be the capacitor.
