I broke two of the elements in my GE Profile cooktop because I failed miserably at removing the glass top. It pays to do your research, kiddies. All it takes is a Number 10 Torx bit to remove 12 screws holding the glass to the body of the appliance, and it lifts straight up. Did the work myself fairly simple removed drip pans and replaced fit perfectly and got a nut driver removed two screws from coil unhooked wires threw out old one and replaced with new one plugged wires on ends and screwed back in and bake coil also fit perfectly now my oven looks and works like new! I watched a few videos on youtube to get some ideas as to what the problem may be. I pulled out the stove from the wall and DISCONNECTED THE POWER - thats very important.
