The Broil Element is an OEM part for GE ranges. This part provides the necessary heat for broiling, located at the top of the oven cavity and designed to deliver even and intense heat for broiling foods.
Causes of a bad broil element can include electrical issues such as short circuits, physical damage from impacts or heavy usage, or wear and tear over time.
Symptoms of a bad broil element include:
- The broil element not heating up
- Uneven or insufficient broiling results
- Visible damage such as blisters or breaks in the element

Cut off power ,inside I remove the two back screws, remove the two front screws with hangers. Pull element out, clip wires so they don't fall back in holes with clothes pins. worked good. But wire connection to the broiler was to large, had to replace connectors, wire fell in hole, had to pull wall oven out and remove back panel. I then mounted the new element to oven. Replaced connectors ,connected connectors, closed back panel, put oven in place ,connected power lines. Turned power on. Works...
