When the element on our 15 year old builder grade oven went out we were worried it was time to spend thousands on a new oven. Cut off power ,inside I remove the two back screws, remove the two front screws with hangers. Pull element out, clip wires so they don't fall back in holes with clothes pins. worked good. But wire connection to the broiler was to large, had to replace connectors, wire fell in hole, had to pull wall oven out and remove back panel. I then mounted the new element to oven. Replaced connectors ,connected connectors, closed back panel, put oven in place ,connected power lines. Turned power on. Works... Read more

I first tried to purchase the part directly from GE but they were not helpful at all. Remembering that I had purchased a transmission and other parts from appliance parts pros for my old Maytag washer before, I searched their easy-to-use parts catalog and there it was!!!! Very simple to fix this problem and took only a few minutes. Appliance Parts Pros has the best delivery service. I ordered the part about 2pm and the part was delivered at 11am the next morning. I live in the Atlanta area so delivery is probably faster than other areas but they always ship the same day if the order is placed before 5pm.
