Jenn-Air Cooktop Parts

We recently purchased a house with Jenn-Air appliances. The previous owner had used something to clean the knobs on the stove that removed the imprint. Ordering these was easy, they fit with no problem and are manufacture initial product quality. Very Pleased. The only suggestion I would have is to provide instructions on how to install the oven door gasket. I have not attempted that yet but will soon. Read more

• Element will not heat

I ordered 2 bake elements and bulbs and was able to easily fix 1 of the ovens. The serviceman who repaired the left oven did not repair it correctly so, one of the wires was not accessible so, I could only fix one oven. After shutting off the power, I EASILY fixed the right oven - with a LOT of care and a little elbow grease - in disconnecting the broken element, by doing exactly as it said to in the video, making certain not to allow the wires to slip back into the hole that it was pulled... Removed 2 sheet metal screw pulled element out about 2 inches. Removed two Spade connections. Removed the element from the oven. Inserted the new element into the over, connected the two spade connector. Reinstalled the two sheet metal screws. Set the oven to bake for testing and tested until the element turned red. Purchased proper hinges. Lifted oven doors off the hinges. Removed screws securing the oven to the cabinet, then slid out the unit from the cabinet far enough to access the hinges. Then removed trim to better access the hinges. Then removed the screws holding the hinges. Then installed the new hinges, secured them with the screws, then reinstalled the trim, then slid the unit back into the cabinet, and secured it in place with the screws. The instructions that came with the replacement smaller surface heating element provided no help about how to open the top of the range, so I checked the internet. My new cooktop cartridge for my Jen-Air cook range works great. The range is probably around 40 years old. The old two-burner cartridge just plain wore out! Only the lower element was burned out, but I opted to replace both. Ordered from AppliancePartsPros and received them very quickly! So I ordered the burner and Ithe switch because I wasn't sure what part was defective. I pulled the oven out and I removed the 6 1/4 inch screws on each side of the glass top as well as the 2 Phillips head screws on the back, removing the 2 1/4 screws on the shield on the back gIves you easier access to them, then lifted the glass top up on the front to access the switch and burners. It was a simple process to enter the model number of our glass cook top stove; learn the part number required and order. It arrived in 2-days -- least expensive shipping method. The cooktop was removed with a Phillips-head screwdriver by 4 small sheet metal screws on the right and left side of the oven. The oven's power to the cooktop was easily disconnected via two "clips" and one ground. Would have cost way more with an appliance repair shop and it's an easy do-it-yourself repair. Read more

Turned off breaker to oven, took pictures of existing broil, supporting bracket and shield attached to oven, removed screws holding element, support piece and shield, removed bracket and shield, pulled out the element, took another close-up picture of the wires connected to element, removed wires, connected new element, turned breaker on to see if connection is correct, turned it off, installed element, shield and support bracket (in this order). I was able to clean the Oven Temp Sensor with 99% alcohol. Then replaced All switches (after breaker was isolated). Put it all back the way I found it. Turned on breaker. Tested all functions and had no reports of Fan Code re-appearing since. Read more

• Door won't open or close

I replaced the hinge due to the hinge spring breaking. To replace the hinge you do the following: 1. Disconnect power to stove, either at circuit box or at outlet. 2. Lift door off of outside hinge arms ; no screws are used to attach the door to the hinge 3. Remove two screw on under side of cook top, one on each side. 4. Disconnect cook top connector. 5. Little procrastination paid off. With only 50% capability I knew it is time to call the appliancepartspros. They shipped me parts within 3 days. It was practical to fix both at the time. All I needed was to disconnect power at range breaker box, grab a screwdriver to lift top open, a 16 inch or so piece of old 2×4 wood to keep the top top of stove lifted, so I could access heating elements from underneath.
